NAC reported the murder in Derbent of nine militants who were planning terrorist attacks on the May holidays

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported that on April 21, nine militants were killed in Derbent, who were going to stage terrorist attacks on the May holidays.

“As a result of a targeted search, two groups of bandits were found in different parts of the city. At the suggestion of law enforcement agencies to lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities, the criminals opened fire with automatic weapons,” the report said.

Earlier, Interfax, citing a source, said that the security forces had neutralized a group of militants who were moving around the city by car. Three of them were killed, one was detained. Later, the agency wrote, the security forces exchanged fire with another group barricaded in a private house. Four militants were killed there.

The NAC does not report on the arrest of the militants.
