“Demon” is a joint opera project of the Liseu Theater, Helikon-Opera, the Nuremberg State Theater and the National Opera of Bordeaux.

Then there were big plans to put the opera in Europe. I shared this idea with Christina Shepelman, the artistic director of the Liseo Theater, my old friend, and she was very interested in the project. Of course, together we dreamed about this performance, we were waiting for the moment when we could imagine the "demon" with Dmitry Hvorostovsky in the lead role. But Dmitry’s departure destroyed many plans. We put this performance in memory of him! ”
