Roskomnadzor fined Znak.com for swearing in a video about an attack on a school in Sterlitamak; the editors insist that no swearing can be heard in the video

Roskomnadzor brought administrative responsibility to Znak.com for obscene language in a published video about an attack on a school in Sterlitamak. This was reported in the publication’s Telegram channel.

The news with the video was published on April 18 at 8:01 Moscow time. In the video, several hundred children and employees of the educational institution are standing next to the school. The author of the video says that a student from one of the classes attacked a girl with a knife and set the school on fire.

The editors of Znak.com insist that all materials are carefully checked for the presence of obscenities before publication.

“In the noise that sounds in the video, it is generally extremely difficult to make out anything, except for the accompanying commentary by the author of the video, where certainly no offensive language is used. It’s hard to even guess in which fragment the sensitive ear of the censors from Roskomnadzor caught the obscenities,” noted the Roskomsvoboda publication.

The Mediazona correspondent listened carefully to the recording several times and also could not hear the swearing, for the publication of which Znak.com was brought to administrative responsibility.

In April, a 17-year-old student of a correctional class at school No. 1 of Sterlitamak attacked a teacher and a classmate with a knife during a computer science lesson, tried to commit [Roskomnadzor], spilled a flammable liquid and set it on fire.

In total, four people were injured in the attack. One of the students, frightened, jumped out of a second-floor window. The teacher, trying to protect the children, received multiple stab wounds. The teenage attacker was arrested in the case of attempted murder of two or more people, committed in a generally dangerous manner (Part 3 of Article 30, Article 105 of the Criminal Code).
