A man died at an opposition rally in Yerevan

One person died and one was injured at an opposition rally in Yerevan on April 23, Interfax reports citing the Armenian Ministry of Health.

A 36-year-old man, who had heart failure, died at the rally. After his condition worsened, he was hospitalized, but resuscitation work did not yield results, the Ministry of Health reported.

The victim turned out to be a teenager who lost consciousness during the rally and fell, having received injuries in the eye area.

The Ministry of Health also reported that seven people injured during the riots in Yerevan continue to remain in hospitals in Yerevan.

• On April 23, residents of Yerevan took to the streets to celebrate the resignation of Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan, who was elected head of government a week ago. Prior to that, he was president for 10 years.
• Rallies against the election of Sargsyan as prime minister have been held in Yerevan since April 13. The largest of them took place on April 22; according to various estimates, it gathered from 35 to 160 thousand people.
