Several dozen promoters at the Armenian Church were detained in Moscow

On April 22, at the temple complex of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Moscow, police detained several dozen people who came to the temple in order to express support to Prime Ministers against Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan in Armenia.

On Sunday evening, about 300 people gathered near the temple complex. They gathered in previous days. Church workers did not let them into the territory of the complex, referring to the fact that the temple is not a place for political shares. The Arminfo website reports that OMON was called by the rector of the temple, the head of the Russian and Novo-Nakhichevan diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of the Svras. Commenting on the situation to the “Caucasian Knot”, the action participants said that they saw how the protection of the complex called the police. But the press service of the temple insists that the employees of the institution did not call the police, and this was done by residents of the nearest houses.

The publication of the “Caucasian Knot” says that people who purposefully provoked the situation and heated the situation were present at the venue of the action. They began a brawl, after which the police began to detain everyone in a row. According to the publication, from 30 to 40 people were detained in total.

Blogger Rustem Adagamov published on his twitter a video that captures a tough detention of a man trying to hide from the police in the car.

On the page of the actress Edita Shaumyan there is a record of the detention of her younger sister. In the video, police officers are asking the girl to follow the police bus for the cottage “official explanations”, after which she should let her go, according to the police assurances.

The Administrator of the Association of Armenian Youth of Moscow on Facebook David Tonoyan at twelve in the morning published a message that in the car he was in which he is located with him twenty people. Later, the activist wrote that most detainees were released with protocols under part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event), but five were left overnight before the trial. What is now with them is unknown.

In the capital of Armenia, Yerevan last 11 days have passed mass protests against the appointment of ex-president of the country Serzh Sargsyan as a prime minister contrary to his promise not to occupy this position. The protesters blocked the central streets of the city as part of the tactics of peaceful disobedience. On April 23, Sargsyan, obeying the requirements of the protesters, resigned.
