The press service of the Moscow City Court reported a refusal to satisfy the complaint even before its consideration

On April 20, the press service of the Moscow City Court announced the decision to uphold the sentence of the ex-director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature Natalya Sharina, even before the end of her appeal. This was reported on Facebook by the head of Team 29 Ivan Pavlov.

At the meeting to consider the complaint, the judge adjourned and adjourned the meeting to 24 April. However, immediately after that, several publications, citing the press service of the court, released the news that the court upheld the verdict.

On April 23, Sharina's defense sent an appeal to the chairman of the Moscow City Court with a request to explain the actions of the press service. The defense also asked in a letter whether it is worth coming to the next meeting if the result of the consideration of the case is already known, and whether it is possible to continue to receive information so promptly so as not to come to meetings from St. Petersburg once again.

• In June 2017, the former director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature, Natalya Sharina, was sentenced to 4 years of suspended imprisonment. She was accused of inciting hatred and enmity (Article 282 of the Criminal Code), as well as embezzlement of property entrusted to her (Parts 3 and 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code) in the amount of 2.178 million rubles.

According to investigators, in 2011-2015, Sharina distributed a book by the leader of the UNA-UNSO (Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian People's Self-Defense) Dmytro Korchinsky, which was recognized as extremist material, and also conducted "anti-Russian and anti-Russian propaganda" with the help of other printed materials. Sharina was charged with embezzlement later: she allegedly paid for the services of lawyers from budget funds and fictitiously hired two lawyers.
