The owner of the Investor investment company Alexander Vikharev filed a lawsuit against Roskomnadzor for five million rubles in the Moscow Arbitration Court. It requires compensation for the losses that the company has incurred from the fan locks of the IP addresses. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a representative of a businessman.
This is the first judicial lawsuit against Roskomnadzor due to unreasonable mass blocks of third-party services after the prohibition of Telegram.
According to the plaintiff, due to mass locks, the website of a company engaged in attracting investment in commercial real estate was not available. The entrepreneur "received complaints from customers in connection with the impossibility of registering on the company's platform."
"These restrictions violated the bandwidth of the organization itself, and a large number of investors using the plaintiff’s platform could not perform operations in their personal offices," the businessman added.
Vikharev explained that he demanded compensation from the RKN, as his company suffered reputation losses - customer complaints and the inability to use the site "damage the market positioning" of the company ".
On the night of Thursday, on Friday, Roskomnadzor accidentally blacklisted a number of IP addresses belonging to Yandex, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and LiveInternet. Two hours later, the addresses were unlocked.
The next day, representatives of Russian Internet companies condemned the actions of the RKN. PR-director of Yandex, Ochir Mandzhikov, called the fight against Telegram a “blow throughout the rune”. "The blocking was affected not only by the messenger - many resources and their users suffered. We do not consider this situation normal. The Russian market can develop only in the conditions of open competition. The restriction of access to global and Russian Internet services will harm primarily to the rune. It is non -freedom and lack of choice for users to consider the most dangerous consequence of the locks," the company representative said.
The general director of VKontakte Andrei Rogozov accused Roskomnadzor of "misunderstanding the principles of the modern Internet", and representatives of Mail.ru announced the launch of their own proxy servers to detour Telegram.
Since April 16, RKN has begun in the mass blocks of IP addresses as part of the fight against Telegram messenger prohibited in Russia by court decision. The whole subnets of the Cloud Services of Google and Amazon are blocked, in particular, the work of many services and sites is violated.
