The deputy heads of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, Irina Filatova and Marina Atamanyuk, were searched with the participation of FSB officers. This was reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the district deputy Nikolai Dizhur.
The interlocutor of the radio station connects the incident with pressure on the head of the district, Alexander Shestun, who, in particular, opposes the delivery of garbage from Moscow to the local Lesnaya landfill. According to him, Filatova was told during the search that she would "sit together with Shestun in the same cell."
Shestun had previously reported threats against him: he said that he was threatened with a criminal case if he did not resign and refuse to participate in the elections. In addition, the head of the district administration stated that pressure was also being exerted on his family because of the approval of the action against the landfill.
Shestun also opposes the transformation of the Serpukhov district into an urban district.
