Roskomnadzor will not be able to block Telegram, said the Internet Ombudsman Dmitry Marinichev. In an interview with RIA Novosti, he explained that “Telegram is not a site, this is an application, and it is impossible to block it by blocking the IP addresses, and the war will continue forever even taking into account the fact that the client part of Telegram is an open code, it can be analyzed and understand how it works.”
Marinichev considers the existing system of blocking ineffective - in his opinion, you should fight the authors of illegal content, and not with the service.
According to Marinichev, Telegram will find new ways to combat locks, and malfunctions in the work of third -party services will force users to set a bypass.
Roskomnadzor began blocking Telegram on April 16, by decision of the Tagansky court after refusing the messenger owners to provide the FSB with encryption keys to read user correspondence. As part of the fight against Telegram, RKN blocks millions of IP addresses of cloud services, primarily Amazon and Google, large-scale failures occur in the Internet. The first lawsuit was filed in the Moscow Arbitration Court in connection with the blocking of Telegram: the owner of the investment investment company Alexander Vikharev demanded 5 million rubles as compensation for damage.
On the night of Friday, a black list for several hours was mistakenly made by the IP addresses of the largest Russian and foreign Internet companies. In this regard, the victims of the RKN Yandex and VKontakte condemned Telegram blocking. In Yandex, it was called "a blow to the entire rune."
On April 30, Moscow will host a rally against Telegram blocking, organized by the Libertarian Party.
