The organizer of the Hemp March in St. Petersburg, the head of the Conscript Bar Association, Arkady Chaplygin, said that he had changed the format of the action. He clarified that the reason was the pressure of the city authorities on district officials, writes Dozhd.

The authorities of the Nevsky district agreed to hold the march on May 5. The procession was allowed on the condition of a change of location - initially the action was announced on Novo-Aleksandrovskaya Street, in return they offered a garden named after the 30th anniversary of October. According to Chaplygin, "the site proposed by the administration is even better than the one announced."

“However, today we learned that the administration of the Nevsky district is under strong pressure from the authorities, the city administration,” the organizer said. He said that it was about the resignation of the officials who made the decision on the approval.

“We worked normally with them for many years, but I don’t want any ghouls to come to the administration of the Nevsky district who will forbid us everything. Therefore, in this case, we are moving forward, ”said Chaplygin.

They decided to break the march into four parts, "each of which does not require coordination." On May 3, activists at a meeting of the organizing committee will adopt an appeal demanding the decriminalization of the consumption and production of hemp, on May 5, the organizing committee will meet with representatives of the administration near the garden named after the 30th anniversary of October. The procession, according to Chaplygin, will try to be held later, when "political issues are resolved."
