Hundreds of oppositionists are blocking traffic, some are driving around the square in cars and honking. Police officers are watching in the city center, but they do not interfere with the protesters.
According to the agency, the procession of demonstrators began from the Yeritasardakan (Youth) metro station. There were many students among the participants of the action, and protesters in white coats walked in front of the column. The participants chanted slogans against the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
Presumably, the procession will end in the Place de France, it will end with a rally of protesters. They will be joined by opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan.
Recall that protests against the official authorities have been going on in Armenia for several weeks. People are dissatisfied with the work of the ruling party and former President Serzh Sargsyan, who became prime minister. Later, under pressure from street protests, he announced his resignation as prime minister and leader of the Republican Party.
