How the traditional model of movement to success was damaged
Tamara Lyalenkova : Today we will talk about how the attitude to work and work is changing. In Soviet times, the world was divided into workers and exploiters. On May 1, people went to a demonstration with the banners "Mir! Labor! May!", And parasitism was considered a crime. Then, unemployment was replaced by unemployment, the “socially useful work” turned out to be useless, and the modern generation of young people demonstrates a fundamentally different from parental attitude to work.
In any case, this is how research shows, including Validata made for Sberbank. Its General Director Maria Volkenstein is visiting today. Whether employers are ready to reckon with the features of young specialists, we will be helped by the head of Career.ru Irina Svyatitskaya and psychologist Vladimir Spiridonov , and students of the Russian Economic School Daria Volosova and Arthur Kignagulov will present the opinion of the young generation.
Tamara Lyalenkova : Maria, among "30 facts about modern youth" some are directly to work. What is the main difference from the older generation, in your opinion?
Maria Volkenstein : I think that the main difference is the feeling of young people, that success implies to be happy. That is, this is not the conquest of large heights or the achievement of career peaks, but the opportunity to enjoy life and be happy. I want to note that not all 100% think so, this is a certain average temperature in the hospital, but in general the trend exists.
And it is clear where the legs grow from. The system of education and education in the USSR was built vertically: teachers and parents were a child, a teenager bosses. That is, the unitary system led a person, explaining in the course that your duty is such and such, such and so on. And this system began to gradually change, became humanistic, and still unfolds towards a much more attentive attitude towards the child. Now the main trend is that parents say that we are friends and we are friends, we are not bosses to them, and the most important thing for us is that the child grows happy, find ourselves.
Teachers and parents were the child's bosses
Two things follow from this: on the one hand, a benevolent attitude is born, on the other hand, a hyper -beep arises. It’s a pity for children: they have heavy loads, let us free them from domestic difficulties, in addition, it is dangerous around. And for us, parents, the main thing is that the child is happy. As a result, children are not very adapted to a clash with difficulties and difficulties. Their idea of the world is formed in such a way that the world is quite comfortable, everything is good everywhere. Therefore, in general, young people are quite optimistic.
Svyatoslav Alice : Arthur, what does success mean to you? Maybe this is due to parental attitudes?

Arthur Kignagulov : I was born and raised in a small village in the Republic of Bashkortostan with a population of about 50 thousand people. And I understood that it was necessary to write the exam well, or to win some kind of Olympics, get a benefit and enter a good university to leave the village, get a ticket to another life. Probably, different facts have influenced my decision - education, and school education, and reading all sorts of interesting and useful books. The first step towards success has been taken - I am studying in a rash.
Tamara Lyalenkova : On the one hand, this is a indicative case, on the other hand, there are not many olympiads. What demonstrates a common trend, Mary?
Maria Volkenstein : This is not the first time we conduct a similar study and see which way everything is moving. An important thing that greatly affects modern adolescents is, of course, the Internet, thanks to which they form clip thinking. That is, they know how to focus on 8 seconds, after which the attention goes away.
Today the child does not use the Internet, he lives in it. In addition, the Internet brings information to you that success is not necessarily hard work. For example, your parents worked, worked, worked - and where are they now? In addition, you can sit and learn all the dates on history for a very long time, but why? Exactly a second, and you find all the necessary information.
In addition, when we are talking about labor, it is very important to understand what we are talking about. About a career, about the ability to concentrate, about the ability to achieve your goals? Or about the fact that you need to sit and work for 10 hours, work, work?
Svyatoslav Alice : Arthur, is this about you - a child of the Internet generation?
Arthur Kignagulov : I absolutely disagree. In my case, the Internet probably appeared in the 9th class. Therefore, he personally did not have a very great influence on me. Secondly, for me, on the contrary, success is the result of hard work, hard movement towards the goal. If we talk about who most affected my worldview, then this is rather not the Internet, but the opinion of my fellow villagers, parents, who simply showed that if you stay here, then your life will be like that. That is, they brought up internal motivation in me.
Svyatoslav Alice : Arthur thinks about the gradual movement towards success. Maria, you in your study talked about the fact that this model was damaged, right?
Maria Volkenstein : She changed. Now parents do not show the child specifically where he will move further, but they offer to decide on their own. For example, where to go to study? Here, parents say: "Well, you know, you live. You are such an individual, you are so capable, you are so wonderful. The main thing is that you are happy." And the young man remains with his hands divorced. This means that he himself needs to make all decisions.
Svyatoslav Alice : Is this a problem?
Maria Volkenstein : This is difficult, this is a very big responsibility. And this responsibility is to not disappoint the parents. And if suddenly, God forbid, he will not be happy, and he will find himself wrong?! The main thing is to find yourself! And parents, for example, will be disappointed in it. They counted on it like that, they tried so hard. This is in some way a heavy burden that young people carry on themselves: both the choice and the search for themselves.
Tamara Lyalenkova : However, from the point of view of the psychologist Vladimir Spiridonov, people as existed in a state of motivation to work in two positions, and they remain in them.
Vladimir Spiridonov : Speaking completely formally, nothing should have changed. If you recall the old psychological theories of motivation, that is, the people of X and the people of Y. People X work because of a large number of important external incentives, first of all, this is money. The work should be well rewarded, given status, to bring the respect of others, associated not with your professional qualities, but with the fact that you are taking the appropriate position.
People Y work because of completely different incentives. These are things related to what is interesting, allows them to develop, set new tasks, come up with new things, feel constantly changing and so on. It is clear that there are no people X and people Y in their pure form. We are all a certain mixture.
There were classes that are hard to call work
It is clear that 40 years ago, that now both people of X and the people of Y are certainly present. In recent years, I think, the ratio has moved, moreover, in a cunning way. On the one hand, of course, life is getting more expensive, the ruble fell and has to work hard to feed yourself and the family. On the other hand, a huge number of generations of classes appeared, which are difficult to name with work that are associated with different activities interesting for people. They lead blogs, act as experts or live, renting an apartment in Moscow, somewhere in Goa, which is difficult to interpret as a job. Nevertheless, this gives a livelihood, self -esteem, and the opportunity to live in its own pleasure, which is no less important. In this regard, the conversation about labor motivation is very difficult. Actually, the set of motives itself has not changed much, but the diversity has increased sharply.
Tamara Lyalenkova : Maria, the study says that young people want more comfort and tranquility. This means that no one will work, as they said before, overtime, no one will work on the limit of their capabilities. It turns out that competition is the end, right?

Maria Volkenstein : In the company we have such a meme - "this is not mine." Because the main thing is to "find yourself." Say, I really like to do dancing. I wanted to connect myself with dancing. But then it turned out that it was necessary to engage in three hours every day - "this is not mine." And now "this is not mine", which always requires great tension, exists. It does not follow from this that there are no ambitious, purposeful young people, we are talking about a common trend.
The number of young people who answer is increasing that the work is more important than the high -paid. There were, in my opinion, 44%. This is a lot, so it was not before. When we talked with young people 7-10 ago and asked what they dream of, they talked about the standard set - the villa on the shore of the ocean, Mercedes and all such attributes of a luxurious life. Now they stopped saying it. They answer simply - so that there is enough money for a comfortable life.
"Not mine" always requires great tension
I completely agree with the definition that there are two directions X and Y, but their ratio changes and the attitude to work changes. Because when you are sitting on the Internet, you always observe examples of quick success. Someone made a clip-ba! - 5 million likes in half an hour. Not that he worked hard, it somehow happened. Therefore, the sensations that you need to work a lot in order to achieve something, they do not have.
Tamara Lyalenkova : Polls show that the lazy generation is growing, which does not want to work. On the other hand, we know that many second -year students are already working on. Arthur, when did you start earning? Was there such an opportunity while studying?
Arthur Kignagulov : If we talk about adulthood, then I earned the first money in my third year when I went to the pharmaceutical company in the marketing department. He worked first 20 hours a week, then 30 hours. Gradually, the work more and more competed with studies, I started to work more and study less.
Tamara Lyalenkova : Maria, what expectations do young people associate with work?
Maria Volkenstein : That she will be interesting, not very difficult and bring a lot of money. And the reality is different. This is some problem that young people face not only in Russia, but also in the West.
Tamara Lyalenkova : But this is strange! Reality is, here it is, parental, before her eyes ...
Maria Volkenstein : Because from all sides they said - you are so wonderful, you are a person, you are not like anyone, you will find yourself, and everything will be wonderful and so on. And you come out with this. And then you look on the Internet, and your girlfriend will post photos where she is in the Maldives. And you went to work in the office, but for some reason you were not immediately made by the most important boss, but put them as a secretary. And this is strange! Because I know that I am a wonderful person, I was raised so much. There is a problem with this. The point is not that young people say that "I will not work." They don't say that. They just expect that at work it will be fun and interesting.
Svyatoslav Alice : We continue to talk about what place in the lives of young people takes work today and what fears when entering the labor market arise even among students such a famous university as rash? Question to Dasha.

Daria Volosova : We have the same fears as everyone else. It is difficult to decide what exactly you want, because a very wide horizon. But after you understand which company or industry is suitable for you, it becomes easier. And you can always seek advice to graduates, to the staff of the school who will help, send, explain how to prepare correctly. In principle, the biggest difficulty is to understand what you want.
Svyatoslav Alice : Irina, how justified the fears of Daria? Is it easy for a specialist who receives a good education, but has no work experience, find his first job so that it is at least somewhat worthy?
Irina Saint : A good education should be supported by good practice and good internship. Therefore, it is very important to begin to develop or get along as soon as possible. If the educational institution makes it possible and good contacts with employers - this is just perfect. Then, after graduating from the educational institution, there will be just the same experience; And the young specialist will no longer be a young specialist: he will already be an experienced specialist. And, of course, there will be much fewer problems with the search for work, with hiring compared to those people who do not have experience and experience of various internships.
Svyatoslav Alice : That is, any, even the best education does not compare with experience?
Irina Saint : Of course, education is valued, but it should be supported by practical skills. And employers who hire young specialists in an internship, perfectly understand that to one degree or another, will have to teach a person. They are ready for this. A huge number of vacancies, internships and part -time jobs are aimed at young specialists. And employers want to see them. The sooner you start trying (in different companies, try business activities, work in a large company, in a medium -sized company), the more experiments there will be, the more understanding of the essence of various businesses, processes and where you are in these businesses. By the law, we can work from the age of 14.
Tamara Lyalenkova : Dasha, I know that you finished Mehmat in Novosibirsk. Would you be able to unlearn fully in Novosibirsk, come, enter one of the best universities in Moscow and continue education if you started your first year career?
Daria Volosova : I think that if I started my career at once, I would not be able to study on Mehmat fully. This is a fundamental education, it is very difficult, a large load. In the 4th year, the guys began to work in our country, but at that time I was preparing to enter Rash.

Irina Saint : And here is a big question for the education system. In a good way, it would be necessary to make various training modules so that students can combine everything under their schedule, and some projects to combine everything. Employers, of course, meet young specialists and offer more options with a shift, with a flexible work schedule, with remote work, but, nevertheless, 51% of employers want a full -time employee.
Daria Volosova : But the question is, what will this bring to me in the future? I can now listen to a course from a good teacher and gain important knowledge, find out something new, or I can sit and interrupt the signs in Exel.
Tamara Lyalenkova : Will they take Dasha later ...
Irina Saint : Immediately on the director with a salary of 200 thousand rubles? .. Each student of any university, any faculty is very different from the other. One person to study on three, and the other on five, one person can tell about his achievements, and the other will not be able to. This is the sale of oneself as a specialist, plus a huge part of the PR.
The main difficulty is to understand what you want
Daria Volosova : Personal branding. We are engaged in the fact that we are preparing for the beginning of a career in consulting. The consulting selection consists of several stages, and they are all very stressful. It is necessary to show yourself as much as possible, to sell yourself correctly, and at the same time possess a number of skills and knowledge. In principle, you need to be a universal soldier.
Tamara Lyalenkova : I must say that the employers today were not in the simplest situation. The new generation grew more demanding and mobile, Vladimir Spiridonov told about this.

Vladimir Spiridonov : There is one very unpleasant tendency for the employer in the labor market, especially in large cities. Since a huge number of opportunities have appeared, people instead of building ordinary vertical or ordinary horizontal careers, all over and over again all in new and new activities. These are not even diagonal careers, when you come to a slightly higher position in a neighboring organization, no, you try yourself in a new business, find for yourself a new niche, a new habitat, a new occupation.
It can be seen how the term of work is shortened in one place.
