The 50th anniversary of the "Chronicle of current events"

50 years ago, on April 30, 1968, the first issue of the underground “Chronicle of current events” was released in the USSR. It was an indescribable human rights newsletter, in which the publicity of human rights in the territory of the Soviet Union indulged in the publicity of the violation of human rights.

In total, from 1968 to 1983, 63 bulletin numbers were released. Since 1968 was declared the UN year of human rights, on the title of the first issue there was: "The Year of Human Rights in the USSR." The epigraph was the words of Art. 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights about the right of everyone to seek, receive and disseminate information.

The first compiler of the ballot was Natalia Gorbanevskaya. In the future, almost all the compilers and authors of the ballot were repressed.
