The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has expanded sanctions against Russia. In particular, the NSDC decided to synchronize the sanctions list of Kyiv with the list of the US Treasury Department. This was stated in a statement by the NSDC press service.

In addition, Ukraine is introducing sanctions against individuals involved in information aggression and cyberattacks against Ukraine, “illegal actions against Ukrainian citizens who are illegally detained in Russia,” as well as against State Duma deputies and members of the Federation Council.

“The sanctions are being introduced at the initiative of the Ukrainian government, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) , and the National Bank of Ukraine for three years or indefinitely against individuals and legal entities,” the press release states.

The list of individuals and companies against whom restrictive measures are being introduced has not yet been published.

Speaking before a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated that Kiev would thus coordinate new sanctions with the US list.

The US Treasury Department has published a list of Russian businessmen and top managers against whom new sanctions have been imposed. As noted in the department's statement, the list includes a total of 26 people and 15 companies.
