Veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Russia and abroad will be paid 10 thousand rubles each

On May 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a one-time payment of some categories of citizens of the Russian Federation in connection with the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The text of the document was published on the official portal of legal information on May 7.

During May-June, veterans with Russian citizenship living in the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, will receive payment.

The head of state instructed the government to ensure the financing of expenses related to the implementation of this decree, including the costs of delivering a lump -sum payment, as well as determine the procedure and conditions for its implementation. The decree comes into force from the moment of publication.

Payments in Russia will be a pension fund through territorial divisions. In the Baltic states, this is also instructed to make the PFR of Russia along with the Ministry of Defense through the security departments at the embassies, the site 9111.ru specified.

According to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation as of April 1, 2017, about 1.8 million disabled people and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, persons equated to them and family members of the dead (deceased) disabled people and participants in the war, live in Russia, the Ministry of Labor reported.

Of these, 22,365 people with disabilities of the Great Patriotic War; participants in the Great Patriotic War and persons who worked at air defense facilities during the Great Patriotic War - 101,624 people, persons awarded the sign of the "resident of the besieged Leningrad" - 113 540 people; former minor prisoners of fascism - 125,769 people; widows of people with disabilities and participants in the war - 298 232 people; rear workers - 1 128 101 people; adult prisoners of fascism - 284 people.
