Mikhail Dolgov: during the year of Alexander Evstifeev’s reign in Mari El the number of poor and beggars increased

One of the main criteria for assessing the quality of governance of any governor should be considered the indicator of deterioration or improvement in the standard of living and well-being of the population. According to official statistics (Rosstat), during the year of the reign of the Head of Mari El, Alexander Evstifeev, the standard of living and well-being of the residents of the republic deteriorated significantly.
In 2016 , 154.1 thousand residents of Mari El (or 20.5%) had cash incomes below the subsistence level, that is, below 8,850 rubles.
At the end of 2017, the situation worsened and already 22.7% of Mari El residents had cash incomes below the subsistence level.
In 2016, 434.3 thousand citizens, or 63.3% of Mari El residents, had incomes below the average per capita cash income in the region, that is, below 18,670 rubles. We especially note that 5.5% of Mari El residents have incomes below 5 thousand rubles! Only 5% of the region’s residents receive a salary exceeding 45 thousand rubles.
The funds ratio (the ratio between the average levels of cash income of the 10% of the population with the highest incomes and the 10% of the population with the lowest incomes) was 11.6 times.
Real disposable cash income of residents of Mari El for January-February 2018. decreased compared to January-February 2017. by 4.4%.
The fall in incomes of the population, as well as the increase in the number of poor and beggars, is the most striking indicator of the failed policy of the interim governor of Mari El, Alexander Evstifeev, and his “Moscow and Saratov Varangians.”
