May 8. Medvedev again became Prime Minister of Russia

The State Duma approved Dmitry Medvedev’s candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of Russia. He was supported by 374 deputies, 56 spoke out against. Representatives of United Russia and the LDPR voted for Medvedev, the deputies from the Communist Party voted against, and a free vote was announced in Fair Russia.

Speaking in the State Duma before his election, Medvedev said that in the near future the government would prepare proposals for raising the retirement age, promising that this would be done "neatly and balanced." He also said that the issue of increasing personal income tax is not considered now.

The prime minister also first estimated the amount of funds that will be allocated in addition to the existing state programs to fulfill the points of the new “May Decree” Vladimir Putin.
