The US State Department once again imposed sanctions on Rosoboronexport on April 30 for cooperation with North Korea, Iran and Syria.
The corresponding document is published in the US Federal Register. The sanctions imply that US government agencies are now prohibited from cooperating with the company and entering into contracts with Rosoboornexport. Also, the company will not be able to buy weapons and services in the field of defense.
The sanctions do not apply to previous purchases, repairs and maintenance of Mi-17 helicopters that are used in Afghanistan, and the purchase in Russia of the OSDCAM4060 digital camera.
The first time sanctions against Rosoboronexport were introduced in 2006. Then the company was accused of violating the ban on cooperation with Iran in the field of weapons of mass destruction.
