Almost 1,600 people were detained throughout Russia on May 5 at the shares “He is not a king for us”. The protesters were beaten by the police. In Moscow, people who came to the rally beat the “Cossacks” by Nagayki. Participants in a peaceful action, including minors, received all kinds of injuries. In Krasnoyarsk, a physical education teacher, one of the local universities, Natalya Podolyak was detained for trying to help a person who had lost consciousness during the detention.
Now Natalya Podolyak can be charged with an attack on a policeman.
SR in mobile SR on Instagram Wed Facebook“I am not a supporter of Navalny, although much of what he does is close and understandable to me,” says Natalya Podolyak Radio Liberty. “But there are moments in his biography that confuse me.” I was not going to come to the action “He is not a king”. On this day, I took the dog and went to meet with a friend. Then we decided to take a walk in the center of Krasnoyarsk. We saw that some event was taking place. I noticed a lot of familiar youth among the participants. Of course, we were curious - a normal human reaction. We stood, listened. They realized that they got to an unauthorized action, but everything was peaceful. The rally ended, and the participants went in the same direction. And we are with them. A bus drove up through the quarter, people ran out of black clothes with batons and began to grab the guys from there.

-At this time, the participants of the action shouted slogans, smashed something, behaved aggressively?
- People were already diverging. The situation was calm and safe. Only the police behaved dangerously. She treated the rally unreasonably cruelly. In Moscow, of course, it was even worse. At least there were without Cossacks. Our Cossacks, as they told me, were also preparing to go out onto the streets to fight the protesters, but for some reason changed their minds.
The police drop it like a bag, then drag it again
So, the police grabbed the youth by the legs and dragged on the ground. The guys almost did not resist. I went to the bus and saw that one boy was dragging her face down. The guy is already unconscious. The police dropped him like a bag, then dragged again. I ran up and began to tell a person in black that I need to provide a boy with medical care. This man rudely pushed me away and hit me in the chest. I have a dog in one hand, in the other - a phone. I did not understand how to pay attention to the situation. I touched a person in black with my foot. And she shouted that she had to immediately save the child. Another policeman who shot the detention on the camera saw this and shouted: “She attacked a law enforcement officer. Graduate her soon.” A man in black, who dragged the boy unconscious, pushed me into a car gut.
- Have you already charged?
- Not yet. We took the obligations to come to the police station on May 11. I think then they will present it. I explained to the investigator that I did not attack a policeman, but tried to help a person in an unconscious, helpless state. I did not kick the policeman, but only touched my foot. The policeman did not even feel that I had touched him.
The lost consciousness cannot be dragged down the asphalt
I am a physical education teacher, so I understand well that just like that people do not lose consciousness. The boy could hit with a baton and he “turned off” because of pain shock, or due to stress, or due to an exacerbation of allergies. I do not know what exactly was with him. I am sure that the lost consciousness cannot be dragged down the asphalt. The fallen fainted should be turned onto the back or on the side and be sure to free the respiratory tract. Otherwise, death can occur in a minute. The police themselves violated the law, leaving a person in a dangerous situation.
- How did the police respond to this explanation?
- I was heard and forced to give me an obligation to come to the police station on May 11. I understand that we will be judged on the basis of a political decision, not legal. And I am afraid that I can be accused of attacking a policeman.
- What happened next to the boy you tried to save?
- He came to his senses in Avtozak, but no one provided his help. The other guys were also in terrible condition. One was broken by the ribs. He said that he could not breathe. But no one to the police department called the doctors. In the site on the protesters continued to crush. People in civilian clothes came and talked with the guys. The detainees left the office and said that they were intimidated. Like, admit who drew you to go to the action, otherwise you will sit down for a long time. The “green” guys were threatened to send to the cell, "where they will quickly spoke." The younger the guys were, the tougher they talked to them. The boys were indignant. They did not understand why they behaved so cruelly with them. But the guys held well. And none of them repented that he came to the action.

- You do not regret that you intervened in the situation? Could pass by.
I will already go to the next rally as a participant
- I worry that if I am convicted of a criminal article, I can lose my profession. But I do not repent for a minute that I intervened. It is unpleasant for me to live in such a system. It is disgusting to watch how people in black with clubs dragging on asphalt in no guilty guys. Imagine, I do not regret at all that I tried to distract attention to myself. I have good at heart. I did what I had to. I will already go to the next rally as a participant. We talked with youth in Avtosak, and I realized that they were right. I have been trying to protect the ecology for many years. And I try to solve all the problems according to the law, but it does not work. It doesn't work at all. And events like “He is not a king” are more effective.
- But you are mainly engaged in social activities, not politics.
The replacement of power is needed, not only the president, but also regional officials
- Five years I have been trying to solve different environmental problems. I am concerned about the salvation of forests, improvement and landscaping of the city. There are a lot of environmental problems in Krasnoyarsk. A huge area of forest in Krasnoyarsk is cut down for the Universiade, which will go only two weeks. We have not disposed of garbage for many years. We constantly call police officers in the fact of violation of garbage recycling. They usually do not come. And if they come, they say: "Well, what." But they come to a peaceful rally in a crowd. Police law is not studied. They are incompetent and illiterate. We write letters to all instances, carry out authorized rallies, announce a hunger strike, give the resolution of the administration. But there is no effect. Power holds us for fools. The authorities do not hear us. It is not possible to negotiate. We can only form a summons. And then the authorities depicts a solution to the problem. In fact, today's government cannot solve problems. In order to, for example, to protect our forest, she will have to go against other officials. And they are all tied. I realized that we, social activists, will not achieve anything with the authorities and compromises. People who dared to publicly defend their rights, after a while, crossed one at a time. The replacement of the authorities, not only the president, but also regional officials are needed. This is what I understood, communicating with the rally participants in the car carrier.

- Many residents of Krasnoyarsk are ready to fight for the ecology?
- We are half a percent. The bulk does not see further his nose until trouble happens. Why didn't you look around when a person fell next to you? Why didn't you try to raise it? Why didn’t you think about what is happening in your country before?
- What do you now think about the people who have entered the action “He is not a king”?
- I heard that the supporters of Navalny are zombie schoolchildren who are easy to manipulate. Among the participants in the action "He is not our king" I did not meet a single one. The guys impressed very smart, conscious people. Supporters of Navalny, with whom we went to the site, said sound, adequate things.
They go out into the streets because they do not see the future for themselves in Russia
They go to the streets because they do not see how to continue to live in Russia. During the campaign "he is not the king" it seemed to me that there were free people in Krasnoyarsk. These guys could pull out our country, but they will not let them do it. There is no task in the power to pull out the country. Of all the tools, officials in the arsenal are only punitive.
- Do you think unauthorized rallies are a way out?
- I, to be honest, do not know. Only I spent all my hopes to agree with the authorities. Maybe you have to try to fight for the ecology otherwise than the supporters of Navalny do.

- Have you easily found a common language with young supporters of Navalny?
- I think we managed to understand each other. With one of them, who was broken by the ribs, we called after the action. I persuaded him to go to the emergency room. Navalny's volunteers added me with their group on the social network. I'm trying to communicate with them there. They treat me a little wary. And I understand why they do not like our generation. A lot of negativity comes from us. Hamsters of Navalny, pickled - as the older generation calls them. It would be better if my peers thought about themselves. We, today's 45-year-old, had to defend our rights in the 90s. And we were engaged in survival, we somehow tried to make money. And the system, with our connivance, developed so that the authorities began to destroy society, ”says Natalya Podolyak .
