
The British manufacturer of luxury cars Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presented the first Cullinan crossover in its history. Such a name was given to the car in honor of the largest diamond in the world, decorating the crown of the British Empire. This luxurious SUV will appear on the Russian market.
On May 10, the brand organized on the Internet a live broadcast of Cullinan presentation, which began exactly at noon in British time (14:00 Moscow time).
The novelty also became the first serial Rolls-Royce with a five-door body and first all-wheel drive model of this brand, writes Autonews .
The development of this crossover was announced in 2015. The British brand decided on such a move in connection with the numerous requests of customers who asked to release "Rolls-Royce in the SUV world."
Cullinan is built on the original modular platform based on an aluminum spatial frame already used on the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII sedan, and at the same time received a new front suspension with a double-winged lever and a five-leaf suspension in the back.
The crossover is equipped with a 6.75-liter V12 engine with two turbines and develops a power of 571 liters. With. and 850 nm of the maximum torque in combination with an eight -speed automatic ZF gearbox. The maximum speed is forcibly limited by electronics at a mark of 250 km/h.
The novelty has an adaptive pneumatic suspension, a full -fired chassis and a system of connected all -wheel drive with the function of the "smart" distribution of traction. Using the EVERYWHERE button, a special off -road mode is activated - electronics is able to adapt the car for gravel, broken roads, wet grass, dirt, snow or sand.
Cullinan final tests took place in the mountains of Scotland, Swiss Alps, in the desert in the United Arab Emirates, as well as in the USA. The maximum depth of overcoming ford was 540 mm.
Cullinan length - 5341 mm, width - 2164 mm, height - 1835 mm, wheelbase size - 3295 mm. The luggage compartment volume is 600 liters, and the four -seater modification Darkest Tungsten - 526 liters.
As for the design of the crossover, its front is designed to resemble the "expression on the face of the Saxon warrior", and the lines of the back give a reference to the classic Rolls-Royce D-Back of the 1930s.

The equipment of the crossover includes a system of preventing frontal clashes, adaptive cruise control, a night vision system with the possibility of recognizing pedestrians and animals, the function of observing a row of movement, a circular review based on four chambers and the function of controlling the "dead" zones. The car is also equipped with a projection display, a Wi-Fi access point and five USB ports.
Cullinan will go on sale in 2019, its competitors are called Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus . In the European market, Cullinan will cost from 265 thousand euros, pre -orders started earlier this year.
The Rolls-Royce representative said that the novelty will appear on sale in the Russian market. Prices are not yet called, but it is assumed that Cullinan will cost cheaper than Phantom VIII, which is sold in Russia at a price of 35 million rubles, the publication of Autonews is noted.
