The management of the Simferopol pre-trial detention center personally checked the Ukrainian Vladimir Balukh

The leadership of the pre-trial detention center in Simferopol personally searched the home of pro-Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh, who has been on hunger strike for more than 50 days, who is accused of disorganizing the activities of the temporary detention center. Balukh continues his hunger strike. Recently, after 11 o'clock at night, he had a serious search, in which the head of the pre-trial detention center himself took part. As far as I know, the doctors were never allowed to see him,” the deputy chairman of the Mejlis said.

In addition, the expert of the Crimean Human Rights Group Vladimir Chekrygin said “Crimea. Realii” that the SIZO staff threaten the activist with reprisals.

“They tell him that sooner or later he will be punished for his free will. Now they come to him with searches at night or in the morning. Searches can be carried out, but at certain hours or in emergency cases. Thus, they do not allow him to rest,” said the human rights activist.

The activist went on an indefinite hunger strike on March 19.

• Volodymyr Balukh is accused of disorganizing the activities of the temporary detention center (part 2 of article 321 of the Criminal Code), in which he was imprisoned on charges of storing ammunition. The investigation claims that he hit the head of the temporary detention center. Balukh says that the employee himself beat him and insulted him.
