According to Syromolotov, several groups were detained - a total of 20 people who were traveling from Siberia and Novy Urengoy. They planned to carry out explosions, for which they had already prepared weapons, the deputy minister said.

At the end of April, the FSB reported on the detention of terrorists from the Islamic State organization banned in Russia. First, four people were detained who came from Novy Urengoy and planned to carry out terrorist attacks in the Moscow region, the service reported. After this, the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a joint special operation, as a result of which 20 people were already detained. The security service did not specify when exactly they planned to carry out the terrorist attacks.

This year the “Immortal Regiment” event broke the record for the number of participants. Throughout Russia, 10.4 million people attended it , and in Moscow – more than 1 million people. In the Russian capital, the procession was attended by the country's President Vladimir Putin, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
