NASA will send a helicopter to Mars

The NASA space agency announced the sending to Mars as part of the Mars-2020 mission of a small helicopter.

With its help, NASA wants to check the ability of devices to fly in the atmosphere of Mars.

30-day tests will include five flights, each of which will be more and more distant (up to several hundred meters) and long (up to 90 seconds). During the first flight, the device will have to fly up to three meters vertically and hang for 30 seconds (English).

• Within the framework of the Mars-2020 mission, it is planned to send a rover similar to Kuriositi, which has been on the planet since 2011. The Mars Road will explore the geology of the planet, look for traces of life on it, and will also evaluate natural resources and risks for people.
