President of the Center for Political Technologies Foundation Igor Bunin died on Saturday at the age of 73. This was confirmed to TASS by the head of the Russian Jewish Congress, Yuri Kanner, and to Meduza by a member of the board of the Russian Association of Political Consultants, Petr Bystrov.
Kanner called the incident a tragedy: “A warm, intelligent, very educated man, we met with him constantly... In Israel, on May 8, 9, he and I opened an exhibition in the Knesset telling about the Holocaust in the Knesset, together we participated in the march of the Immortal Regiment "in Netanya."
Bystrov suggested that the cause of death was a stroke.
Bunin's funeral will take place next week, and the RJC is ready to provide all necessary assistance in organizing it.
Bunin was one of the most famous Russian political strategists. In the early 1990s, he headed the Center for Political Technologies (CPT), one of the oldest Russian political consulting organizations. TsPT Igor Bunin is one of the largest government contractors in the field of sociological research and political consulting. The foundation was involved, in particular, in providing information support for the 2017 municipal elections in Moscow. According to the Russian branch of Transparency International , in 2011-2017, CPT received 30 government contracts worth 96 million rubles.
