The journalist of the German ARD television channel, the author of documentaries about Russian doping Heyo Zeppelt issued a visa for a trip to Russia in order to cover the World Cup, said the head of the German Foreign Ministry Haiko Maas.

According to the minister, Berlin notified the Russian side of this. Earlier, the journalist was canceled the Russian visa - Zeppelt was included in the list of foreign foreigners in Russia.

Meanwhile, in the TFR they intend to interrogate Zeppelt in the case of the former director of the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov. They want to ask a journalist “due to circumstances that he became known in the preparation of a documentary about the alleged abuses by Russian athletes,” the department explained.

The Russian embassy in Berlin stated that Zeppelt received a working visa on May 7 on the basis of accreditation of the International Football Federation (FIFA), and will be able to work in Russia on the same rights as other journalists until July 25. The diplomatic representatives explained that Zeppelt was included in the list of unwanted persons on the basis of a certain court decision, and his trip to the mundial "will be an exception."

On May 12, it became known that Zeppelt was canceled the visa for a trip to the uniform. The journalist associated the decision of Moscow with his investigations on the Russian State Doping Program used at the 2014 Olympics.

Zeppelt is the author of a series of eight documentaries "Secrets of Doping", which tells about the Russian state doping program. The films laid the foundation for the investigation, which led to the opening of the doping violations in Russia and the prohibitions on the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions. In two of them an interview with Seppelt gives Rodchenkov. In the last film, released in January, he accuses President Vladimir Putin of complicity of doping fraud.

After the release of the first films about the Russian doping program, Zeppelt began to poison on Russian television.
