Transparency International recovered 5 million rubles in favor of the author of Putin's dissertation

Judge Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg Galina Bystrova recovered 5 million rubles from the Russian branch of Transparency International in favor of the rector of the St. Petersburg Mining University, Vladimir Litvinenko, one of the approximate of Vladimir Putin and, according to some reports, the real author of his candidate dissertation. Other defendants in the lawsuit of Litvinenko were the editors of the newspaper Business Petersburg and the journalist of this publication Irina Pankratova, Natalya Kovtun and Nadezhda Fedorova - the authors of the article, which caused the discontent of the approximate Putin. From the editorial office, Bystrova recovered 4 million rubles, from journalists - 1 million.

The leader of this group, lawyer Ivan Pavlov said that the judge Bystrova rejected all the defense petitions. “Regarding the documents confirming the information that Litvinenko allegedly discloses, the court generally spoke out absurdly,” Pavlov remarked, “they say, the journalists had to find these documents before publishing the article (although, obviously, this was exactly what was done), and not now ask the court to demand something.”

Litvinenko filed a lawsuit to protect the honor, dignity and business reputation in January. His claims were called by the TI investigation of a billionaire from the mountain. The Mountain University built a scientific and laboratory complex, and it turned out an elite housing, published on the NGO website in December 2016, as well as a month earlier, a business of business St. Petersburg under the name "as lands and a building worth 7 billion rubles, from a mining university to people close to the rector of the university of Vladimir Litvinenko ". The publications were about real estate transactions that Litvinenko concluded as the rector. It was indicated that as a result of these transactions at the territory owned by the university on the Vasilievsky Island, instead of new training and laboratory buildings, a premium residential complex was built.

The lawsuit was also filed to the "offshore - no" website, but in the future the case against this resource was allocated into separate production.

The requirements of Litvinenko Judge Bystrova partially satisfied. Putin's close -fitting insisted that 65 million rubles would be recovered from the defendants: 30 million with Ti, 20 - from the Business Petersburg, 5 - from its journalists and 10 with "offshore - no."

Litvinenko became the rector of the Mining University in 1994. He was the supervisor of Putin's dissertation "Strategic planning for the reproduction of the mineral-raw base of the region in the conditions of the formation of market relations: St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region." In 1997, Putin defended this work, having received the degree of candidate of economic sciences.

Back in 2006, American scientists convicted Putin in plagiarism . They found that 80 percent of the key part of the dissertation is a complete or minimumly changed translation of the article of two American economists published in the late 1970s.

Meanwhile, in the March of this year, the daughter of Putin’s close, Olga Litvinenko , who lives in the UK, said that not Putin himself wrote a dissertation, but her father. Litvinenko himself called his daughter's message "complete delirium."

In 2000, in the first election campaign of Putin, Litvinenko was headed by his election headquarters. The daughter of the approximate stated that he organized falsifications in the elections, and also forced businessmen to finance the campaign.

In last year's rating of the richest people in Russia, prepared by Forbes, Litvinenko took 122th place. He owns 19.35 percent of the Fosagro chemical holding. In 2017, the market value of the holding was 59.9 billion rubles.
