HTC announced the Exodus blockchain smartphone

An increasing number of companies operating in various fields are seeking to find application of blockchain technology in their activities. Taiwanese HTC did not stand aside - the day before, HTC top manager Phil Chen spoke about the company's intention to release a blockchain smartphone, writes The Verge .

Nothing is currently known about the characteristics of the future device, which is called Exodus. It is reported that the smartphone will be a cryptocurrency wallet and will receive support for popular cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum (the list of supported currencies will be updated), as well as decentralized applications.

In addition, HTC plans to create its own blockchain network, in which Exodus smartphones will act as nodes. Using this network, device owners will be able to exchange cryptocurrency. The price and timing of the start of sales of the smartphone have not been announced, but it is known that it will be possible to pay for the purchase of Exodus with cryptocurrency.

As The Verge notes, HTC Exodus could become the second blockchain smartphone in the world. Previously, Sirin Labs announced its own smartphone with support for blockchain technology. This device is expected to go on sale this year, and its cost will be one thousand US dollars.
