The descendant of the noble family of the Vorontsov-Dashkovs three years ago was not interested in charity or family history. Now the 32-year-old Leonid fights with the lymphoma of Hodgkin, organizes a fundraising football matches and reads about how his noble ancestors were engaged in charity. “As if the blood had leaped up,” he grins
We help Advita helpLeonid was diagnosed in 2015: “Hodgkin lymphoma”, 4v stage. He admits that he noticed malaise before, but did not attach importance - as often happens, especially with young and hyperactive.
At thirty, Leonid built ambitious plans in all areas, from career to personal life. Professionally organized parties for the restaurant, where he worked as an administrator. A party, friends, trips, meetings, pleasure - Moscow Never Sleeps.
Upon learning of the diagnosis, he threw all funds to chemotherapy in the best metropolitan hospitals. But numerous attempts showed: his body is treacherously stable for this type of intervention. Then the consultation of the doctors decided that it makes sense to contact a young patient at the Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology. R. M. Gorbacheva in St. Petersburg: there, in test mode, a new drug “Nivolumab” is used, which does not act on infected cells, but on the immune system. So in the life of Leonid, the Advita Foundation appeared, which collaborates with the Research Institute.
“The medicine is not cheap, so I was forced to seek help from the fund. By that time, I was already exhausted, there was no strength to work, to play sports, the whole “past life” seemed so distant. But the new drug immediately gave a tangible result. I now feel much better, I began to swim again, the benefit is a friend who helps with access to the Olympic pool of the SK Olympic. I used to be very active, the disease slowed me in every sense, but now I again feel a surge of strength. Again in the kitchen. "
Leonid photo: Evgenia Zhulanova/Schschi for TDThis is not about home kitchen, but about one of the restaurants of Podolsk near Moscow. In a past life, Leonid was a successful administrator, but the kitchen always seemed to him a sacred place, where inexplicable magic was happening. This attitude even interfered with the work: “I can honestly admit that I really did not understand the entire kitchen of the kitchen, and therefore I never touched the chefs and assistants. He did not scold, so as not to sharpen the stupidity of any. And then he decided: what am I losing? It is necessary to figure out once and for all in order to be fully in the subject. I figured it out. He got involved. Now I work in the kitchen myself. I enjoy. "
Leonid changed the attitude not only to the kitchen: “Everything has changed. The disease turned out to be a lesson. I completely reviewed my values. Other meanings appeared. And although I still say that the most important thing is to get pleasure from life, I mean already a completely different pleasure. Previously, it was a momentary pleasure for yourself, often physiological, often from the possession of things, from some secular easters. And now-joy, because you are alive, that you are supported by mom and dad, sister, that you can self-realize without a bunch of tinsel, that you are doing something important and useful for other people. ”
“It all started with a simple question of one friend who found out about my illness:“ How can I help? ” - says Leonid. - Out of habit, I dismissed at first: how can you help? You are not a doctor and not a bank, right? We just once had been engaged in football together for a long time. We sat, hired. There were good times. And then suddenly it clicked: here it is! I always loved football. And everyone in our country love football no matter what. The football movement always comes in. You can blind something funny and at the same time useful. And I realized that he could really help. Build a tournament grid, agree with our stadium about the event, find judges - yes. But really help. So everything spun. "
Leonid in the metro photo: Evgenia Zhulanova/Schschi for TDWith the help of a friend, it was possible to organize a tournament for the Nastenka charity fund. The St. Petersburg doctor sent him to this fund by Leonid as soon as he heard about the idea of his patient - targeted fees for the treatment of cancer patients in the format of a football tournament. All contributions of participants, accompanying sales and voluntary donations are sent to the fund.
A lot of time has passed from the idea to implementation. Partly due to the well-being of Leonid-but here Advita, Nii Gorbacheva and Nivolumab helped, thanks to which the organizer of the volunteer shares finds the strength to embody his ideas. Partly due to organizational points: Leonid had the experience of conducting events, but he had to work with the zero budget for the first time-with the world on a thread, on Barter, on agreements, on a honest word.
The first tournament, in March 2017, was more likely a friendly meeting of two teams, to collect a little. The funds were sent to pay for the transplantation of bone marrow for the boy, which was oversaw the Nastenka Foundation. The second, October attempt (also for a transplant, but for another ward) doubled the collection amount.
Success inspired Leonid. I wanted to hold the games constantly. So the Kind project appeared.
The third tournament at the stadium named after Kachalina on Frunze embankment was held in April 2018 (before that, Leonid had to take a break for treatment and restoration). For Arina Shapovalova, it was possible to collect 74,600 rubles - an impressive amount! Once from time to time, these noble tournaments are becoming more professional: treats for guests, entertainment platforms for children, gifts and, of course, prizes from partners.

I hope this time we will finally close the collection for her and will move on. Our team on the advice of the Nastenka Foundation has applied for the international competition “KFC Battle: Volunteering”, victory - a grant with an impressive amount, so we are waiting for the results, crossing the fingers. If possible, we can expand significantly and bring many more benefits at times. ”
Today, many friends from the past life simply do not know today's Leonid: it seems that he does not think about himself at all. He goes into himself, only to read: either the philosophical treatise will master, then suddenly rethinking "how steel was tempered." He does not think about personal life at all: “I don’t even want to talk about it. What girl? Would you like your loved one to survive the sudden loss of your loved one? I don’t know at what point it can happen. Why do this with someone? "
Therefore, all the forces are on new projects. It is important for Leonid to make his ideas long -playing. Introduce traditions that could continue to exist and benefit. “Good,” as we see, gradually grows. New ideas also appear: for example, film screenings for wards of orphanages Moscow Region.
Numerous acquaintances help. "Everything again comes down to this issue:" How to help? " Everyone sets it when they find out about your status, although only expensive medications can really help me directly in my situation. At first I always answered this question that nothing was needed: he was brave, pretended that nothing had changed. But it has changed. It is difficult not to notice when you just end in the life of the life that you are used to. I accepted it quite quickly. What is the point of falling into depression if everything has already happened? Spend time on self -pity? Well, no. Since you are not able to change the given, you just need to do what you can. And then I began to honestly answer the question than to help. Everyone can give something for a common cause. ”
Leonid photo: Evgenia Zhulanova/Schschi for TDAt the beginning of the year, Leonid met an old friend working in the Kino House on Belorusskaya, and with longing told how the house “bends”. Immediately the thought arose: why not in unpopular time to arrange shows for children from orphanages in the hall? And already in March, adolescents watched a difficult film in the House of Cinema about the persecution at the Lesson school, after which they had lunch on a gastroferm and visited the Museum of Old Russian Culture and Arts. Andrei Rublev.
“In my life I would not have thought that I would engage in charity. There were other interests. While his father corresponded with various historical societies (he wanted to achieve the recognition of our family with both noble surnames: the Vorontsovs were never recognized, but we officially Dashkov according to all the documents), while I went to the family estate in Novomnikovo, I was engaged in my “affairs”. And now it’s even annoying that I did not participate in all family research. Now I read it myself. Many of the Vorontsov-Dashkovs were engaged in charity work. And so I started too. So, it was necessary. I believe that everything is no coincidence. "
It is no coincidence, it means that the appearance in Leonid of the Advita Foundation with fees for a drug that allows you to lead a fairly active lifestyle in order to invent and implement projects. The connections of doctors and funds from St. Petersburg and Moscow are not coordinated. The Nastenka Foundation, tournaments, the KFC contest are not accidental. It is no coincidence that you went to this page. Perhaps you regularly help some funds, or maybe never thought about charity. But everyone can now become a valuable link in this chain of good: help Advita so that the fund helps its wards, including Leonid. Which, in turn, will come up with interesting and non -accidental projects for children in need of his help.
