
The jury of the journalistic prize "Libming" announced the names of the 2018 laureates. They were Anna Shadrina and Andrei Desnitsky, in a special nomination the work of Zoe Light was noted.
The jury of the award includes a philologist, political scientist, journalist and writer Denis Dragunsk (chairman of the jury), historian, journalist, publicist and writer Alexander Arkhangelsky, professor of the Faculty of Media, Communications and Design of the Higher Superior Anna Kachkaeva and journalist, political scientist, political prison and analyst Dmitry Oreshkin.
In the “Analytics” nomination, the prize was awarded to the sociologist Anna Shadrina for the book “Dear Children. Reducing the birth rate and the increase in the price of "motherhood" in the XXI century. (Publishing House "New Literary Review", 2017).
“The book is devoted to the problem of fertility in Russia in our time, the problem of reducing the growth of birth rate, and I am convinced that this is extremely important,” commented Denis Dragunsky. - We are all talking about democracy, about politics, about values, but all this happens on the matrix of the population. When there are few people - one situation, when there are many people - another. That is, a demographic problem is a basic problem for the development of any society, and the book Shadrina reveals some very important patterns of modernity in this aspect. ”
In the nomination “Journalism”, the Prize was awarded to the philologist Andrei Desnitsky for a series of publications on the sites “Gazeta.ru”, “Tradition”, Republic , “Russian Pioneer” and “Gifter”.
“This year, Andrei Desnitsky became the laureate in the“ journalism ”nomination, Alexander Arkhangelsky. - This is a rare case, because on the one hand a person is a rather conservative religious tradition - a professional biblicalist - and at the same time an absolute democrat, liberal. Suddenly it turns out that one does not contradict the other. It is very deep, bright, consistent and very simple about the most important thing: as the democratic foundations of life will either be or will not be anything. ”
In addition, this year, in the special nomination “For the courage to defend liberal values”, the jury noted the journalist Zoya Svetova for a series of publications on the MBH sites. Media ”and“ Radio Liberty ”dedicated to people who are in conclusion.
The official ceremony of awarding laureates of the Libmitmissia-2018 award will be held on May 30 at the House of Russian Abroad named after Alexander Solzhenitsyn in Moscow.
The Libmites Prize was established by the Liberal Mission Foundation in 2016 in order to attract the attention of society to scientists, popularizers, publicists who, with their work, contribute to analytical research and education of Russians and systematically clarify the current situation in Russia and the world.
The prize is awarded for the book on the current socio-political process (nomination “Analytics”) and for a large cycle of substantive publications in the media (nomination “Publicity”) issued during the premium cycle. Laureates receive a monetary reward in the amount of 250 thousand rubles.
