The Kirovsky District Court of Kazan has fined eco-activist Guzel Khalilova 10,000 rubles for opposing the construction of a waste incineration plant, writes Idel. Realities".
Khalilova was found guilty of violating the procedure for holding a public event by its participant (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason was the speech of the activist at the meeting of residents of the residential complex "Salavat Kupere" on March 25 - then Khalilova spoke about her experience in fighting the construction of a waste incineration plant. The girl said the phrases “We are against the construction of an incineration plant”, “We want clean air around us”, “This is our city”. The police considered that because of them the gathering turned into an uncoordinated rally.
“This meeting lasted two hours, while I spoke for five minutes. They have a recording of five minutes of my speech, where I say these words. For some reason, the police decided that because of me this event turned into a rally. And where are the performances of other participants? Many people spoke there, including State Council deputy Artem Prokofiev. Where is the organizer of this gathering? Why was he not considered the organizer of the rally?” Khalilova told the publication.
