Zoojeters are constantly saying that an article about brutal handling of animals needs refinement. The punishment on it is not perceived as real, and most people evade liability for murder or even murder of animals. In Dmitrov near Moscow, zoo defenders for the second month seek a response from a woman who is accused of killing dogs. Her neighbors complain about the howls and squeal of animals, as well as the heavy smell of meat: it seems to them that from time to time it is dumping the corpses of puppies. They say that over a few years, more than ten dogs have passed through her hands. The woman herself does not open the door even to the district police officer, although for some reason he lied to the zoo robbers that he saw a refrigerator, clogged with almost bloody pieces of wool. The Batenka correspondent Nina Abrosimova went to Dmitrov and realized: to prove the fact itself is so difficult that in general, each of us can cook dogs with impunity in his apartment.

The windows of the kitchen in the apartment on the ground floor of a regular five -year -old already six months, however, are covered with oilcloth from top to bottom. “It was impossible to look there before. There was always some barricade of boxes on the windowsill. And the windows themselves were in mud and soot, ”says one of the neighbors. A 47-year-old woman and her 15-year-old son now live in the apartment. “There are no more dogs, they have been gobbled up, probably,” the neighbor continues.

A month ago, the inhabitants of this house reported to the zooprodists near Moscow that a large dog with a broken jaw was walking in their courtyard. Activists Maria Mikhailova and Natalya Krylova arrived, interviewed the neighbors and found that the dog belongs to a certain Irina from the 103rd apartment. As she looks, the zoo defenders did not know, therefore, trying to find at least some clues, they accidentally asked about Irina a resident of the 103rd apartment, who was returning from work from a kindergarten. Having figured out, they asked to show the same dog to check the message about the injury. And although Irina never made contact even with neighbors, she brought the dog to the stairwell. That's just it was a completely different dog: small and black. The zoo defenders asked where the big one. Irina replied: “That one has long been gone. And I saved this from the people who ate them the whole drop by. ” And then they were wary.

It is impossible to see what is happening in the apartment of Irina, but to hear - easily. The five -story building has thin walls, so the child is a neighbor from above, for example, with enviable regularity falls into a hysteria when he hears howl from below. “Puppies screeches with terrible force. They beat them, but you can’t do anything. Only knock on the wall. For some time she will become quiet, and then again for the old one, ”the neighbor explains. “These were one hundred percent different puppies. It is heard by the voices, ”the other remarks. What is confirmed by the third: not a single dog was delayed for more than a year.

They are beaten, but you can’t do anything

When surveying the residents at the entrance, it quickly turns out: Irina was always seen with different dogs. And if she brought to the zoo defenders a black dog, then a week later, according to a neighbor from the second floor, that was a “obviously beige dog”. She took it to the walks of animals infrequently, but when she brought it out, “she knocked them out with his foot and pulled them over the leash,” one of the pensioners recalls. “We thought: well, changing - and changing. And the fact that she eats them began to be understood from half a year for sure. They compared the facts, ”says the chairman of the house.

The smell bothered everyone: heavy and incomprehensible origin. Due to the features of his hood, it was also heard in the whole house: “Very, very often, almost once a week, and then a lull for several months. That is, not for every dinner. " The neighbors compare this smell with a cold of rotten meat: "As if something is brewing for a long, long time and everything is driven there." Six months ago, at the next consultation in the heads of all residents, it clicked: Irina kills the dog.

Where they went, it is really incomprehensible. One of the workers of the shelter, from which Irina asked for a puppy, said that she talked about a number of accidents: several dogs ran away, someone fell under the car. Irina’s daughter wrote to me that one dog was killed: “When my mother came home from work, the dog was dead, who was half-cooled, the apartment was completely turned upside down, as if they were looking for something. Because of this case, we changed the lock on the front door. ” Irina's son says that none of the dogs died. In his opinion, they simply run away: “The dog grows up - that's all. You let her go, but she runs away and does not return. And that’s all - it will not fall home anymore. ” And the others “mother usually returns, because why do we then do not need them.”

Irina’s son is embarrassed: we have been standing at his school for 15 minutes, and all this time I have been asking questions about his mother and dogs in different ways. He is confused in answers. I can’t remember the nickname of not a single dog, although I am expectantly silent. It quickly asks: “Did you look in the refrigerator or in the freezer? In the freezer are bones, chicken, legs there, pork, fish, nothing else is lying there. ” He throws the strange: “No, I don’t get attached to them, first you attach it, and then ... everything is already.” He says: “No one in the family wants to start a dog. I don’t know why to start them. I am not fond of such things. " It’s already embarrassed to me myself, but I ask the main question: “Someone in your family ate dogs?” He replies: “Mom said that one day she bought meat in the store, and that was dog meat. She ate - and she was sick. "

The zoo defenders emphasize that it wasn’t they that day began a conversation about meat: Irina herself suddenly began to tell that she saves puppies from those who eat them. The neighbors later enlightened the visitors, which could be connected with an unexpected mention. Together they wrote a statement and gave it to the district police officer.

The course of almost all cases regarding the brutal handling of animals are initiated by activists, Yuri Koretsky, chairman of the “Alliance of Animal Defenders” Alliance, explains. And, according to him, even the zoo defenders, having discovered a precedent, do not always understand that they need to immediately contact the police. He says that some are trying to resolve the situation themselves, but this is illegal: the activist, for example, does not have the right to pick up the dog from the hands of Livader, because it is private property. “The police themselves also do not know how to work under the article. So far there is no clear description of what the brutal handling of animals is there is no explanation on how to act. And if an investigator or district police officer makes a mistake, then they will be punished, ”Koretsky adds. He says that in the end, as a result, 100-200 cases per year reach and most of the perpetrators receive small fines or several hours of forced work, and "no one is going to prison." Activist Natalya Krylova cannot recall a single such case.

Dmitrov zoo defenders believe that their district police officer also could not cope. After some time, he indirectly confirmed the general guesses, telling one of the activists about the visit to the apartment. According to the zoo defender, in the apartment he saw both wallpaper stained with blood and a refrigerator clogged with meat. But it makes no sense to give more colorful descriptions, because in a conversation with the “battered”, the district police officer refuted the fact of the visit of the visit: “We were not in the apartment. The citizen did not open the door. ” “Natasha was with him, and I am sure that she did not come up with it. Probably everything was as he says. Maybe he wanted her to leave as soon as possible, ”suggests the zoo defender Maria Mikhailova. In fact, the district police officer would have no right to ask to open the refrigerator.

According to the district police officer, the application is now transferred to the prosecutor and will return in a month. Then he will be able to enter the apartment and take the meat for examination, if it is there. But Irina obviously prepared. She was seen with the last dog a month ago, and, according to her son, they do not plan to take a new one.
