CNBC: All Putin's rockets with a nuclear engine crashed during the tests

CNBC sources said that Russia from January 2017 to February 2018 conducted four tests of this cruise missile, each of which ended with a crash. The most successful test flight lasted a little more than two minutes, for which the rocket overcame about 35 km, after which it became uncontrollable and collapsed to the ground. The shortest launch lasted four seconds.

It should be noted that, as planned, the rocket starts on ordinary powder engines, and then a nuclear installation is launched, due to which the shell is able to fly relatively silently at a low altitude, while remaining invisible. According to the television channel, the tests showed that it was the use of the “nuclear heart” of the winged missile that led to its fall every time.

The television channel also reports that launches were held on the orders of senior Kremlin officials, despite the objections of leading engineers who tried to explain that the systems are far from work.

It should be noted that Putin, during his “explosive” speech on March 1, stated that "at the end of 2017, a successful launch of the latest Russian cruise missile with nuclear power planting took place at the central training ground of the Russian Federation." According to the president, during the flight, the energy installation reached a given capacity, provided the necessary level of traction.

"The launch of the rocket and a set of ground tests allow you to proceed to the creation of a fundamentally new type of weapon - a strategic complex of nuclear weapons with a rocket equipped with a nuclear energy installation," the head of state added.

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov then shared the details about this rocket. “For the first time, we probably managed to do this. Thank you very much our nuclear scientists who made this fairy tale a practical past. Last year, complex tests were held, they confirmed all those approaches that were laid in this winged missile,” he said.

Borisov also said that the rocket can be found only "on the very approach to the target, and the possibilities of its maneuver make the winged missile also invulnerable." “It can carry the load to any distance. For days it can fly,” the deputy minister boasted.
