The Moscow City Court extended the measure of restraint to the ex-general director of the Seventh Studio. Yuri Itin will remain under house arrest until July 19. Earlier, until the same period, the arrest of other defendants in the case was extended - director Kirill Serebrennikov and the former head of the department of the Ministry of Culture Sofya Apfelbaum.
According to TASS , the investigation petitioned for the extension of Yuri Itin's house arrest. He and other defendants are accused of embezzling 133 million rubles allocated from the budget for the theatrical project "Platform". In addition to Itin, Serebrennikov and Apfelbaum, the former general director of the Gogol Center, Alexei Malobrodsky, and the former chief accountant of the Seventh Studio, Nina Maslyaeva, are also involved in the case. The ex-producer of the "Seventh Studio" Ekaterina Voronova is abroad, she was charged in absentia. Only Nina Maslyayeva pleaded guilty; she also testified against other defendants.
All but Malobrodsky were under house arrest. In mid-May, the latter was released on bail.
