The head of the Ministry of Transport fired the security supervisor of the Crimean Bridge

The new head of the Ministry of Transport, Yevgeny Dietrich, dismissed the head of the private security of the ministry, Igor Sherstnikov, who was responsible for the transport security of the Crimean bridge and approaches to it. It is reported by RBC with reference to a copy of the dismissal order.

As follows from the document, the employment contract was terminated at the initiative of the employee himself.

The representative of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise confirmed to RBC that Sherstnikov left the post. According to him, a new head has not yet been appointed, his duties will be performed by deputies. A spokesman for the Ministry of Transport declined to comment.

In December 2017, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, wrote in a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak and Head of the Ministry of Transport Maxim Sokolov that failure to complete the work to ensure the transport safety of the road on time could lead to a delay in the completion of work on “sites adjacent to the facility”. The Ministry of Transport said that all activities would be implemented on time.

On May 3, 2018, the government postponed the deadline for completing the transport security of the Crimean Bridge to December 2019, combining two stages, although it was planned to complete the work on the road part by September 30, 2018.

Car traffic on the Crimean bridge was opened on May 16. The Crimean bridge is the longest in Russia, its length is 19 km. The construction of the bridge, which began in 2016, cost 228.3 billion rubles.
