The Ministry of Agriculture plans to create an “agricultural Yandex”

The Ministry of Agriculture intends to create an information system for agricultural producers to access big data and new technologies. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ivan Lebedev at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“We will strive to create such an agricultural Yandex - a large system, transparent, transparent to the whole world, so that investments in the country’s agro-industrial complex are active, correct, so that we develop and, of course, fulfill the task that is before us today it’s worth it,” Lebedev said (quoted by Interfax).

According to Lebedev, advanced technologies and digital agriculture are necessary for the further growth of the industry and the development of exports. “Through new technologies, through digitalization, through the effective hectare system, we are saying that today we are improving the quality and safety of our products,” he noted.

Lebedev added that by the end of the year the Ministry of Agriculture will present a number of package solutions, including the creation of an information system.
