FSIN: Oleg Sentsov agreed to maintenance therapy

Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who went on a hunger strike in a Russian colony, agreed to receive maintenance therapy, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reports.

“At present, he has begun to receive maintenance therapy, to which he agreed,” TASS quoted the message as saying.

Sentsov's defense representatives or his relatives have not yet confirmed this information.

“During the time of refusal to eat, no deterioration in the general state of health was registered <…>. Discussions are regularly held with the convict about the negative consequences for the body that occur during prolonged fasting, ”the press service noted.

• Oleg Sentsov, sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of plotting terrorist attacks in Crimea, has been on a hunger strike since May 14. He demands from the Russian authorities the release of 64 Ukrainians whom he considers political prisoners (not to mention his own release).
• Russian President Vladimir Putin has been repeatedly asked to facilitate the release of Sentsov, but he refuses to do so.
