An activist on duty at the Nemtsov memorial was detained on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge

On the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge to Moscow, the police detained Arkady Konikov, the duty officer of the Boris Nemtsov memorial. Konikov himself told about this to OVD-Info.

According to Konikov, the police approached him and offered him a choice: either he removes the portraits and flowers from the memorial, or they go to the police station. Konikov replied that he was ready to go to the department and would not clean up anything. Then they put him in a police car. He sat in it for 15 minutes, after which he was told that he could go.

As Grigory Simakov, an activist of the 14% movement, told OVD-Info, on May 25, policemen approached the duty officers at the Nemtsov memorial and told the activists that political actions on the streets of Moscow were prohibited due to the World Cup. At the same time, law enforcement officials referred to Presidential Decree No. 202 of May 9, 2018, according to which the freedom of movement and freedom of assembly of citizens are restricted during the World Cup.
