Updated: the assassination attempt on Arkady Babchenko turned out to be a staging by the SBU. Babchenko is alive, the suspect in the preparation of the assassination attempt on him was detained.

Journalist Arkady Babchenko was shot dead at the entrance to the apartment, journalist Ayder Mudzhabaev told Ukrainska Pravda.

According to Mujabaev, Babchenko was returning home from a store when he was attacked. He specified that the journalist was shot three times in the back.

The police, in turn, said that Babchenko's wife was in the bathroom when she heard the pops. She went out and saw her husband lying in blood.
