A picketer with a poster “Hear Sentsov and the voice of truth” was detained in Moscow

Tatyana Shapiro was detained in Moscow, standing in a solitary picket with a poster "Hear Sentsov and the voice of truth." She reported this to the OVD-Info hotline.

Shapiro said that she was picketing on Pushkin Square. During the action, two officers of the tourist police approached her. They offered the picketer to remove the poster and leave or go with them to the police station.

According to the detainee, law enforcement officers did not prevent her from going to the department with an unfolded banner. The police drew up a protocol against her under part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event) and released her.

On the eve of the police detained a man who was standing on Pushkin Square with a poster "Russia, let Sentsov go."

• On May 14, convicted filmmaker Oleg Sentsov went on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the release of 64 Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia.
• On August 25, 2015, Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko were sentenced respectively to 20 and 10 years in a strict regime colony. Sentsov was accused of allegedly leading a terrorist group in Crimea.
• OVD-Info published a letter from the director to human rights activists: “I even saw Lake Baikal from the window of an air prison on a charter flight Yakutsk-Irkutsk.”
