Journalist Arkady Babchenko was killed in Kyiv

Rebuttal: Arkady Babchenko is alive. The staging of the murder turned out to be part of a special operation by the SBU. The suspect in the assassination attempt has already been detained.

The correspondent of the Ukrainian radio Hromadske, Irina Romaliyskaya , wrote on Facebook that journalist Arkady Babchenko was killed in Kiev.

She clarified that the Ukrainian MP Anton Gerashchenko confirmed the information.

Alexander Cherkasov, chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center, also posted on Facebook about the death of Babchenko.

The head of the press service of the Kiev national police, Oksana Blishchik, wrote on Facebook that the police received a message from doctors: a woman called them and said that she had found her husband in the house in blood. From the wound received, previously - in the back, the victim died.

The date of birth indicated in Blishchik's message - 1977 - and the type of activity - the presenter of one of the TV channels - coincide with the data of Arkady Babchenko.

Babchenko moved to Kyiv in 2017. Recently, he hosted the PRIME TV show on the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR.
