In Chelyabinsk, the coordinator of the local headquarters of Alexei Navalny Boris Zolotarevsky became a defendant in the criminal case in connection with the action on May 5. He himself informed the OVD-Info about this.
Zolotarevsky is suspected of hooliganism, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code).
On the evening of May 29, the employees of the Center for Combating Extremism searched his camera in a special -reception for prohibited literature - in early May the activist was arrested, accusing the action "He is not a king for us." After a search in a special -reception, law enforcement officers came to the address of Zolotarevsky’s registration, where his relatives now live. The security forces told the press that they discovered in the apartment the literature of “Jehovah's Witnesses” and documents confirming the involvement of Zolotarevsky in a religious organization. In an interview with the ATS-Info, the activist said that this was not true and that he was not a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, and their literature was never in his apartment.
On May 30, EP employees met Zolotarevsky at the exit of the special receiver and said that he was passing the suspect "in some criminal case." Law enforcement officers refused to clarify what kind of criminal case it was in question, put the activist in a civilian car and delivered to the police department in the Central District. There, Zolotarevsky was informed that he would be questioned soon, but instead employees of the EC center, together with the investigator, went home to the activist. According to him, near the entrance they were waiting for a bus with OMON employees in masks, who had grinders, hammers and weapons. They threatened to break the door, Zolotarevsky had to close her with his body, while he, along with the security forces, was waiting for his friend, who brought the keys.
Entering the apartment, law enforcement officers immediately stated that they want to find everything related to the organization of the action on May 5. As a result, they seized stickers with information about the event, old button phones and documents, which, according to Zolotarevsky, "are very indirectly related to political activities." What are these documents, he did not specify.
After the activist’s search, they took the interrogation to the police department “on the secret fifth floor”, as law enforcement officers themselves put it, but still brought to the fourth. There, the investigator first told Zolotarevsky that he was suspected of hooliganism, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. The activist said that he did not understand what is at stake, and refused to testify under the 51st article of the Constitution.
Zolotarevsky notes that the documents did not spell out which actions of the authorities considered hooliganism. The activist did not take part in the action “He is not a king for us”, since he was detained even before she began, as soon as he left the apartment. On the same day, Zolotarevsky was found guilty of repeated violation of the rules of the event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and arrested for 25 days.
Zolotarevsky himself believes that the criminal case is associated not only with his leadership of the headquarters, but also with the public campaign of distrust to the governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky, which the activist leads.
