Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko accepted the offer of Petro Poroshenko, a representative of the presidential administration, for help in obtaining Ukrainian citizenship. He spoke about this at a press conference, Interfax reports .
“There was talk about helping to get citizenship. I did not refuse, to be honest, ”he said.
According to Babchenko, he has a permanent residence permit in Ukraine, his family also applied for permanent residence.
On May 29, the police reported that Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko was killed on the threshold of his apartment in Kiev with three shots in the back. The next day , it turned out that Babchenko was alive, and reports of his murder were part of a special operation. According to the Ukrainian intelligence service, the staging was necessary to catch the organizers of the crime.
According to the SBU, the murder of Babchenko was ordered by the Russian special services, which recruited a citizen of Ukraine and instructed him to find the perpetrator of the murder. The alleged organizer of the assassination was detained. His name is Boris German, he is the executive director of the Ukrainian-German joint venture for the production of weapons "Schmeiser". In the near future, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv will consider the issue of Herman's arrest on suspicion of organizing preparations for a terrorist act (part 1 of article 14, part 3 of article 27, part 3 of article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The perpetrator, who agreed to cooperate with the investigation, is involved in the case as a witness.
