The Tatarstan court canceled the fine for reposting a rally against a waste incineration plant

The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan closed the administrative case of environmental activist Irina Nikifirova. It is reported by "Idel. Realities".

Nikiforova was accused under part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event) due to the repost of a message about an action against an incinerator. Then the Vakhitovsky court fined her 10 thousand, but later the Supreme Court of Tatarstan returned the case for further investigation.

The day before, the Supreme Court canceled the fine imposed on environmental activist Gulnaz Smirnova for reposting about the rally.

• Disputes about the construction of a waste incineration plant in Kazan have been going on for the past two years. A movement against the construction of the plant has formed in the city, uniting with movements from the Moscow region, where the Rostec company also proposes to build similar enterprises.
• The waste incineration plant should be built in the Zelenodolsk region of Tatarstan, in the village of Osinovo. The land on which the plant is going to be built already belongs to the construction investor, a subsidiary of the Rostec Corporation, RT-Invest.
