The police detained another MSU student. He is threatened with criminal charges

In Moscow, police detained another MSU student. Members of the university’s initiative group wrote on their VKontakte page that they were threatening him with a criminal case: the day before, unknown persons had damaged the sign for the World Cup, which is located on the territory of Moscow State University.

Activists report that the detainee’s name is Dmitry. Earlier, he received a call from the police. Law enforcement officers asked the student to give an explanation of what happened and said that “they are not going to jail” - supposedly they need to assess the damage and decide whether to open an administrative or criminal case. In case of refusal, the police promised to put the student on the wanted list.

UPD 21:22 Open Russia lawyer Oleg Eliseev was not informed for an hour at the Moscow State University police department about the whereabouts of the detainees. Afterwards he was told that the students were taken to the inquiry department at the Internal Affairs Directorate for the UAB. Eliseev is heading there.

• Earlier it became known about the detention of two other MSU students: the head of the unit and a “man in uniform” came to their exam. The young people managed to report that they had allegedly been identified by video cameras and were accused of vandalism.
• After this, it turned out that the detainees’ phones were taken away - the police wanted to read their telegram correspondence. After this, the students stopped communicating.
• One of the members of the initiative group, Maria, told OVD-Info that the police refused to hand over the water she brought to the detainees. The FSB told the student that the detainees were taken away from the Moscow State University police department. The department officer on duty refused to give any information about the detainees.
