In the Moscow region, the police threatened a participant in the “He is not our king” action with Center “E”

At the police department of the city of Vlasikha, Moscow region, police officers threatened Artem Novikov, a participant in the “He is not our king” action, with Center “E”. He reported this to OVD-Info.

After the rally, a protocol was drawn up against Novikov under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a rally). Then an operative called the man and told him to come to the department to sign papers stating that he was not going to engage in extremist activities.

At the department, two operational officers began asking what Novikov was doing at the May 5 protest, where he studied and worked. He refused to answer them. Artem Novikov had a phone in his hands. The police noticed it and tried to take it away, the man says. “Luggage, now there will be an inspection,” Novikov reports the words of the employees. When he refused, the police began to say among themselves that he needed to be taken in for search. They said that he was now going to take a drug test. Despite the threats, the young man refused to give up the phone. Then, according to Novikov, the police officer began to say that the protest participant was suspected of extremism and on this basis his phone would now be confiscated as a suspect. In addition, law enforcement officers are trying to find out under what name Novikov is on social networks. He didn't tell them. “If you don’t want to, we’ll find out for ourselves later,” the young man recounts the words of the police.

“We filled out some form... I read everything. When I was already leaving the department, the operative said to me, “Why are you talking to us like that?” He said that I was going into denial. He said, “Why are you such a greyhound?”,” says the man.

“Well, if you don’t want to, you don’t want to. An employee of Center “E” will call you soon,” Novikov reports the words of the employee.
