0:00 0:27:11The Immortal Regiment first walked along the streets of Tomsk in 2012. Then about 6 thousand people took to the streets of the city with portraits of their front -line soldiers. The initiators of the procession were three grandchildren of the front -line soldiers, Tomsk journalists Igor Dmitriev, Sergey Lapenkov and Sergey Kolotovkin.
The "Immortal Regiment" was conceived as a private, family story, as a way to honor the memory of "his" front -line soldier, "his" winner. The next year, many other Russian cities joined the movement, then near and far abroad. By the 70th anniversary of the Victory, the Immortal Regiment united hundreds of cities, in fact, the whole country, tired of the ineffective search for the national idea. The coordinators of the regiment from different cities developed a single charter, the main requirement of which was the inadmissibility of any politicization and commercialization of movement.
However, every year this year -born in Siberia and the people's initiative was increasingly monopolized by various state structures, the essence of the undertaking was more and more distorted. And although hundreds of thousands of Russians still go on May 9 on the streets with portraits of their grandfathers and the most sincere feelings, the question is increasingly arising: where is the "Immortal Regiment"?
