Shlemenko lost by knockout for the first time in nine years

Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Alexander Shlemenko lost to Brazilian Bruno Silva in a fight at the M-1 Challenge 93 tournament in Chelyabinsk. The fight in the up to 84 kg category ended in the first round with a technical knockout.

Shlemenko started actively and tried to land several punches. The Brazilian endured this attack, and then managed to pin his opponent in the corner of the ring. After a series of crushing blows, the referee stopped the fight.

The last time Shlemenko lost by knockout was in 2009 to Bulgarian Yordan Radev.

The Russian was considered the favorite of the fight. Bookmakers accepted bets on the Brazilian's victory at 6 to 1. In addition, Silva exceeded the permissible weight by 400 g, for which he received a yellow card. This gave the Russian fighter a one-point advantage in advance.

Now Silva has 18 wins and six losses in MMA, while Shlemenko has 56 wins and 11 losses.
