Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced that Apple has approved the latest update to the messenger. "Apple has just reviewed the latest Telegram update for iOS, and we were able to send a new version with long-awaited fixes and improvements to the AppStore," Durov wrote in his Telegram channel. He thanked Apple for the decision.

The new version of Telegram, number 4.8.2, is already available for Russian iOS users in the AppStore. It includes a number of innovations, including an update to the personal data processing process in accordance with new requirements of European legislation.

Earlier, Durov reported that Apple, following the Russian authorities' demand to remove Telegram from the App Store, was not allowing the messenger to be updated worldwide. Because of this, some iOS 11.4 users could encounter problems with the messenger.

Roskomnadzor began blocking Telegram on April 16 because the messenger refused to hand over the keys to decrypt messages. However, Telegram continues to work for many Russian users. The messenger manages to bypass the blocking by constantly changing IP addresses.
