The Syrian dictator Bashar al -Assad promised to meet with the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong -un. He stated this at the ceremony of presenting Verilitative letters to the new DPRK ambassador in Syria, reports Yonhap.

"I will visit North Korea in the future and meet with its supreme leader Kim Jong -un," Assad said. He expressed confidence that Kim Jong -un would "achieve his final goal and unite Korea."

"The Syrian government will continue to support the policy of the DPRK leadership and will continue to strengthen and develop friendly relations with North Korea," Assad concluded.

On May 31, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov met with Kim Jong -un in Pyongyang. According to the results of the meeting, he called on the participants in negotiations on the Nuclear Disargement of the DPRK not to try to "artificially adjust" the process of denuclearization.

Lavrov’s visit to the DPRK was condemned by US President Donald Trump. He said that he did not understand the purpose of this meeting, but noted that she "could be positive."

Now Washington continues to prepare for the meeting of Trump and Kim Chean, which should take place on June 12 in Singapore. Representatives of the United States and the DPRK held a number of negotiations at different levels.
