Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, who went on a hunger strike in a Russian prison colony, wrote a letter to the heads of the G7 countries. This was reported by the Ukrainian television channel Hromadske, which published the full text.
In the letter, Sentsov, in particular, asks the G7 states to help Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia.
"Dear Sirs! Thank you very much for what you and your countries are doing for Ukraine. We still have a lot to do ourselves and with your help. For example, to win this hybrid war with our enemy," the letter says.
It is not specified how the letter came into the possession of the TV channel. The date on the paper is "05.06.2018". On June 4-5, director Askold Kurov, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate Kliment, and lawyer Dmitry Dinze came to visit Sentsov in the colony.
